Event description
HLE Network is proud to host an exclusive Q&A session featuring Dr. Ken Cruickshank of the Sydney Institute for Community Languages Education (SICLE). For decades in Australia, the important role of multilingualism in educational and economic development has been well-accepted. This event is a unique chance for policymakers, educators, migrant community leaders, and migrant support agencies in the Netherlands to hear first-hand about how Australia nurtures (its providers of) heritage language (HL) education.
The session is interactive so that participants can ask questions from their perspectives. Among the organizations represented at this event are the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science, the Municipality of Eindhoven, Brainport, SALTO schools, Stichting NOB, and more. Our hope is that these stakeholders will leave the session with a common understanding: that strategic support for HL programs can benefit everyone.
By showcasing this example from abroad, HLE Network is encouraging Eindhoven’s stakeholders to realize what great potential there is to support HL education in our region!
