During a recent visit to Washington, D.C., HLE Network’s Managing Director Gisi Cannizzaro had the pleasure of meeting up with Ana Lucia Lico of ABRACE (Associação Brasileira de Cultura e Educação) and the U.S. Coalition for Community-Based Heritage Language Schools. This informal meeting gave them the chance to connect more personally—over a cup of coffee instead of via Zoom—and share their stories of how they got involved in linguistic advocacy.

This is just one example of many exchanges that have been taking place as part of the HL Global Think Tank, where advocates and educators from around the world collaborate to support heritage language education. Of course, HLE Network materials were shared—including a tote bag that features our signature slogan: Laat alle talen stralen!
